Aris Jewellers, Professional Goldsmiths

Since 1967

The workshop

Company of master goldsmiths

A trade workshop that still makes the piece

For decades we have been supplying the trade and our private clients with the very best in customer service and satisfaction. Aris Jewellers is a family-run business which takes the greatest pride in design and manufacture, so you can be sure that a special piece of jewellery will last a lifetime.

Aris Jewellers was founded in 1967 as a dedicated trade workshop offering a full repair, restoration and manufacturing service, situated on the first floor of 172 Old Christchurch Road. A high standard of workmanship and quality of service enabled the company to grow quickly to ten master goldsmiths.

In 1968, as an addition to the workshop, Bournemouth Goldsmiths and Silversmiths was established. That was a retail operation, offering the whole spectrum of jewellery and watches to the public.

1968

Bournemouth Goldsmiths and Silversmiths opened alongside the bench, selling jewellery and watches to the public.

2000

The retail side and the original workshop were brought together in purpose-built premises, so clients could speak directly to the craftsmen.

Purpose-built, still on this street

In 2000 the retail operation and original workshop were amalgamated into new purpose-built modern premises. That change lets the public speak directly to the craftsmen in the workshop, and it gives the trade a more efficient service.

The address has stayed the same throughout: 172 Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, BH1 1NU. The bench is on site. There is no separate factory to wait on, which is why a straightforward job can often be quoted quickly and returned without a long journey away from the town.

Three generations, one partnership

The business now employs three generations of the family, and is currently run in partnership by two brothers. The workforce has a combined tally of hands-on experience of over 250 years. In 2017 the workshop marked fifty years at the bench.

How we work

  • Repairs and commissions are carried out in house.
  • Work is fully insured while it is on the premises.
  • Valuations and insurance assessments are available. The workshop is registered with the National Association of Goldsmiths.
  • Private clients and the trade are both welcome.
